ABSTRACT
This study analyzes economic growth in South Sulawesi Province using a descriptive quantitative approach based on secondary data. The data were obtained from Statistics Indonesia, Statistics of South Sulawesi Province, and Bank Indonesia. This study focuses on economic growth trends, sectoral structure, expenditure components, and the main driving and inhibiting factors of regional economic growth. The results show that South Sulawesi’s economy continued to grow positively after the pandemic. The economy grew by 5.02 percent in 2024 and increased to 5.43 percent in 2025. This achievement was higher than Indonesia’s national economic growth of 5.11 percent in 2025. South Sulawesi’s growth was supported by exports, investment, household consumption, services, trade, manufacturing, and agriculture. However, the region still faces challenges related to dependence on primary sectors, agricultural production fluctuations, interregional inequality, and the quality of government expenditure. This study recommends strengthening agricultural downstreaming, improving productive investment, expanding infrastructure equity, empowering MSMEs, and improving human capital quality.
Keywords: economic growth; GRDP; South Sulawesi; investment; regional development.
